A hectic few months, both in the making and since going live, to reboot the old mobilemonday.net site just in time for 25th Anniversary of the very first MoMo ever held in Helsinki on 4th of September, 2000. It was huge relief to hit that deadline, and super feedback from so many of the alumni members, recovering that legacy database collection and securing archive posts online as tribute to great efforts over the years.
While we were not at that historic founding event, our Tokyo debut in 2004 as second ‘chapter’ was then quickly followed by over a dozen more locations in the following year, with 150 cities – from Adelaide to Zurich – by it’s peak, the same core ethos was adopted worldwide. The local~global platform model with clear objectives & philosophy, Bringing the Community Together, delivered benefits beyond measure.
Of course it’s fun wandering around memory lane, The Mob Rulz is still cheeky fun for those so inclined, and naturally it’s major milestone on our paths thus far, that said; we can’t help but feel those lessons learned and networks built could be useful for others in the future. We look forward to explore how our activities and experience might assist the next generation to navigate during these most challenging times.
At the dawn of this new millennium a few energetic folks arranged an event focused on the emerging Mobile industry, on a Monday night, at Molly Malone’s in Helsinki. Their simple MobileMonday (MoMo) concept saw amazing growth around the world with the 100th city location launched in 2010. Suffice to say hundreds volunteers have organised thousands of events globally bringing together countless participants for business and pleasure over a few friendly drinks. On the 4th of September, 2025, raise a glass and smile.. Kippis.. 🙂
